Mediterranean - Capri $255

This hamper builds on the components of the Amalfi. The Capri features all of the items in the Amalfi, including our extra-virgin olive oil processed with traditional techniques from the Marchelli Foods Family, our robust balsamic vinegar from Modena, and our handcrafted dense and crusty walnut peasant loaf from Amy's Bread, 2 porcelain dipping dishes and small bread knife. To this base we add our aged Parmigiano-Reggiano from the fertile Po River Valley surrounding Parma, Italy. The local cows produce the signature milk that has been turned into this iconic cheese for over 700 years. We also include a jar of delicate and fruity Taggiasca black olives from Liguria.

A Mediterranean diet gift wouldn’t be complete without a fish high in beneficial Omega 3 fatty acids. Cole’s Tuna is an extra fine ventresca tuna (that’s tuna belly, the tenderest part of the fish) canned in olive oil and fished with dolphin safe procedures from Portugal. Fresh fruit is another fundamental component to eating the healthy Mediterranean way. We accent the Capri with a selection of seasonal fresh fruit such as clementines, pomegranates and kiwi, known to be high in fiber and prevalent in the Mediterranean basin region.

About the oil-

Olio Fresco 2018 harvest extra-virgin olive oil is harvested and pressed the same week. Robust, fruit-forward olives this year produced an oil bright green in color with golden reflections.  It has an intense aroma of herbal marks and apple peel overtones.  The taste is incredibly fresh - grassy and buttery, with a peppery finish.
