Looks
like a giant pale green banana with lizard-like hexagonal scales. The
fruit ripens in stages as the scales begin to fall off. Where scales have
fallen off, slice and remove flesh from cob-like core. Flesh is creamy
and has a flavor of sweet bananas and acidic pineapple. Native to Mexico
and Guatemala.
